Week beginning 22nd June
Hello Year 4,
Are you ready for a new week? Can you do your big 5 every day?
I've added a new Learning Log task below, this time on Space! It would be great to see some of your super work on your Learning Journey.
Please remember to check Google Classroom every day for your daily message, White Rose Maths sheets, just for fun ideas and much more!
Send me a message on Google Classroom if you have any questions or need help with something.
Have a great week.
Hello Year 4 and welcome back after the sunny half term holiday.
We are continuing with our "Rainforest" topic and a new Learning Log grid has been added below. Please remember that you can share your work on your Learning Journey on Google Classroom. I love reading and seeing what you have been doing at home.
Try to aim to do your daily "Big 5". It really helps you to keep up good learning habits. At Puffin Club we are following the White Rose Maths and the BBC Bitesize daily lessons. I have added the worksheets that you need for White Rose Maths below.
Please just try your best and if you need any help you can send me a message on Google Classroom or ask a grownup to email me at email@example.com
Good Morning Year 4!
Welcome back after the Easter holidays. I hope that all of you are OK and ready for some new home learning?
Please remember to do what you can. We understand that you might have to share a computer with siblings and that you may not have a printer to print things out. If you are struggling let me know. You can message me on here and my email address is inside your home learning book so an adult can contact me this way.
I will post your daily and weekly tasks on Google Classroom. At first you might think it is a lot but when you complete each activity you will see that they are broken down into short chunks of learning.
Please use "My Learning Journey", (on Google Classroom) to record what you have done each day. Think of it as a daily blog of your learning. You can present it in any way. You might want to list which activities you have done and how you felt about it e.g. it was fun, too easy, too hard, too boring! You might choose to upload a photograph or a video of your work. I am sure you will have your own ideas too.
Daily Tasks Monday 20th April 2020
Task 1: Do something that makes you happy! Sing, dance, tell a joke, eat chocolate (if you have any Easter eggs left), draw, give someone a hug, whatever it is that makes you feel good.
Task 2: Do some form of physical activity. Go outside and play a game, do some keepy-ups, ride a bike, try an online video e.g. Joe Wicks, Cosmic yoga, or Oti Mabuse.
White Rose Maths Lesson 1 Make a whole

I can't wait to see what you put in your learning journey!
Miss Hunter x
We are all beginning to slowly adjust to our new routines and it is lovely to see families, communities and our country pulling together. Our school "family" is very important to all of us at Amble First and we know how vital it is to keep communicating with each other. One way of doing this is through Google Classroom. Google Classroom has been set up and it is great to see how many children have joined our Y4 page. We can safely message each other, share the learning tasks that we have completed already and in due course future learning tasks will be set.
Instructions for joining Google Classroom are on the School 360 homepage.
If you have any questions or require any learning support my email address is on the inside cover of the learning pack that your child brought home.
Welcome to Year 4!
Miss Hunter (Year 4 teacher) and Mrs Poulton (HLTA) teach in Year 4.
There are lots of opportunities and exciting things to look forward to in Year 4 like;
* becoming a Sports Leader
* being a playground buddy
* staying in a real castle on the Ford Castle residential
* starring in the Christmas performance, class assemblies and the Leavers show
* taking a leading role in planning our topics
* participating in lots of sporting festivals
* swimming lessons
*special curriculum days in school
... and so much more!
Miss Hunter teaches Year 4 Monday to Thursday.
Mrs Poulton teaches Year 4 on a Friday.
Swimming takes place on a Wednesday afternoon in the autumn and summer term.
PE day and Sports Leaders training is on a Friday for the autumn term. Please remember that you come to school dressed in your outdoor PE kit on your PE day.
We have started to think about how we learn and what helps us to learn on our transition days.
We've made plans for the layout and organisation of Year 4 too.
Most importantly we've started to plan our new topic for the autumn term which is World War Two.
What kind of ration recipes can we make?
How many countries were involved?
Where can we visit to find out more information about World War Two?
What would the world be like now if WWII was still happening?
In Maths we follow the White Rose schemes of work which ensure our children have a well-rounded mastery approach to Maths.
If you would like to look at the resources we use and the schemes of work you can see them on:
